ACCRA, Oct. 24 (AGCNewsNet) – The UK government has changed its third-party visa application centre provider in Ghana from TLScontact to VFS Global, effective immediately. This move aims to improve visa services for applicants, including reduced biometric processing times and faster passport collection.
The UK’s visa application centres globally are managed by third-party suppliers under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The new centre is located on the Mezzanine Floor of the Grand Oyeeman Building, South Liberation Link, Accra.
A UK government press statement emphasized that while the change impacts how applicants submit their visa applications, it will not affect processing times, visa decisions, or fees. Those already working with TLScontact will be seamlessly transferred to VFS Global for continued processing.
The UK government assured applicants that biometric submission and passport collection times would be shorter under the new arrangement. “Applicants will benefit from faster services, with average passport collection times now just 20 minutes," the statement said.
Applicants still working with TLScontact should note that the existing centre will officially close on Nov. 15, 2024. After this date, all visa services will transfer to VFS Global. Applicants who have already completed part of the process with TLScontact will have their documents securely transferred to VFS Global without interruption.
VFS Global confirmed that appointments scheduled with TLScontact for the remainder of October will proceed as planned.
