LAGOS, Dec. 1 (AGCNewsNet) – Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star, Davido, revealed that his music career has connected him to 14 presidents worldwide, underscoring the transformative power of African music on a global stage.
Speaking at the “Elevate Africa” program, the Nigerian singer credited his expansive network to his success in the music industry, which he said has helped open doors not only for himself but also for his family.
“Forget the money; I have 14 presidents’ phone numbers. I can call them directly,” Davido said during the event. “In every country we go to, the president wants to meet us. That’s also promoting our culture. It’s an amazing feeling.”
Davido noted that, beyond the wealth of his father’s business empire, the international acclaim of his music has elevated his family’s profile.
The global influence of Afrobeats continues to grow, with African artists like Davido collaborating with international stars such as Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj, who, as Davido remarked, “love African culture.”
His comments come as African music is increasingly celebrated worldwide, with artists using their platforms to foster cross-cultural exchange and elevate the continent’s creative industries.
